LAMNONI GORGE

12 ROUTES, MULTIPITCHES, THE BIGGEST GORGE AROUND XEROKAMPOS

Crag info

Gorge of Xerokamps, also known as Lamnoni gorge, is the largest canyon in the region of Xerokampos with a huge climbing potential. It is 3 kilometres long and goes from the north-west to the south-east until the road to Xerokampos After that it continues down to the sea as Amatou gorge. Both sides of the canyon are climbable. The walls are up to 200 metres tall.

We started bolting in the upper part of the canyon, in 2 sectors that are north-east oriented: the upper is Kókkino Vrácho crag and below it is Red rock crag. However, if you have enough energy and bolts, you can bolt wherever you want. Just be aware of a fact that big birds like eagles and vultures are nesting in this canyon during spring. Just like many other places around here, it’s a protected area of NATURA 2000.

Length of the routes is 25-40 metres for the single-pitch and up to 65 metres for multi-pitch routes. There are multiple belay stations to ensure safety. All of the routes were bolted in November 2019 by Petr Fiala alone. They are waiting for the first ascents.
